MY JOURNEY AS A BRAND AND WEB DESIGNER HAS BEEN A UNiqUE ONE
Like many people my age, I completed my degree right at the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
It was 2020, I left school with my degree in Environmental Science and then the whole world hit pause... and it felt like the world didn't really hit "play" again until 2 years later.
At the start I felt lost. I spent my days hitting refresh on Indeed with the hope that job openings in my field would appear, with no luck. This left me with a lot of time to reflect and figure out an important question....
If you could do anything today (while constrained to your own home), what would you do?
I would create.
i spent my days learning photoshop, sketching logos, and learning the ins and outs of web design...
and i loved every second of it.
The COVID-19 Pandemic had a lot of negative impacts on the world but it did bless me with this. It gave me the space to redefine my life goals and the time to develop my skills.
I had the opportunity to work as an E-Commerce Coordinator and worked 1:1 to build and launch customized websites to help businesses move online during the pandemic.
I then had the opportunity to work as an in-house Graphic Designer for a year for a tech start-up.
And now I get to continue to use those skills to help others pursue their passions and help their businesses thrive.
